About the role: 
We are seeking a seasoned Unity Engineer to support one of the top young children’s entertainment companies on their partnership versions of mobile games. Think special editions of the titles for platforms like Netflix, Apple Arcade, and Kindle.
You will be the sole owner of the partnership game variants, responsible for stability, platform compliance, SDK integrations, pipelines, and release management. This role does not include the development of gameplay or metagame.
Please note, this is a full-time remote contract of 40 hours/week, with a minimum of 5 hours overlap with the core hours 10 am to 5 pm US Eastern Time (EST). The engagement runs through the end of 2026.
 
What to expect from the process: 
  • Profile Preselection: Our Talent Acquisition team will review your profile.
  • Talent Acquisition Interview: Selected candidates will be contacted to undergo an initial interview to discuss their experience, skills, and fit for the role.
  • Test: Qualified candidates will be invited to complete an assessment to demonstrate their abilities.
  • Technical Interview: Finalists will participate in a technical interview to assess their proficiency and compatibility with our team.
The Quest: 
  • Develop and maintain partnership versions of existing games (e.g., Netflix variant), ensuring platform policies and technical requirements are met.
  • Own all partnership games as the single developer responsible for it all.
  • Integrate new features coming from the internal platform into the partnership games.
  • Migrate games across build/release pipelines.
  • Update SDKs and dependencies to maintain compliance with relevant app store/platform requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with QA to identify, triage, and fix bugs, ensuring smooth releases.
  • Manage releases of updates to app stores.
  • Occasionally port a game to a new platform (e.g., from standalone to Netflix).
  • Occasionally contribute to miscellaneous tasks handled by the tech team.
The Skills: 
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in C# and object-oriented programming.
  • Track record of using Unity to build cross-platform mobile apps.
  • Solid experience in integrating SDKs and APIs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, investigate and resolve complex issues, and ship reliably.
  • Habit of proactively keeping stakeholders informed.
Nice to have: 
  • Experience bringing apps to Netflix, Apple Arcade, Kindle, or similar distribution platforms.
  • Experience releasing apps on app stores, including handling submissions and compliance updates.
  • Prior work in building and maintaining shared software platforms or SDKs used across multiple products.
  • Familiarity with build and release pipelines.
